Village hall opens its archive to the public

Sixty years of council minutes, now searchable, and a volunteer who spent two winters scanning them.

BELCARRA — Sixty years of village council minutes went online this week, scanned and indexed by a volunteer who spent two winters at it and who asked not to be named in this story.

The archive runs from incorporation in 1979 back through the improvement district that preceded it, and includes the correspondence file on the park transfer — the document trail that residents have been asking the village to publish for the better part of a decade.

The collection is searchable from the village website. Paper originals stay at the hall, by appointment.
