Evergreen Line ridership passes pre-2020 levels

Weekday boardings at Lafarge Lake–Douglas are running nine per cent above 2019, making it the first Evergreen Line station to clear its pre-pandemic mark.

TransLink attributes most of the gain to the towers that have completed within walking distance of the station since 2021 — roughly 1,900 units, nearly all of them rental or strata apartments rather than townhouses.

The line as a whole remains about four per cent below 2019, held down by Burquitlam and Moody Centre, where midday travel has not recovered.
